OBIT: George W. Tareila, 92

George W. Tareila, age 92, a Tewksbury and Salem, NH businessman, died peacefully Thursday morning at Lowell General Hospital’s Saints Campus. He was the beloved husband of Viola C. (Forsyth) Tareila, who died in 2008.

George was born in Chelmsford, a son of the late William and Ethel (Brown) Tareila. He began his career as a machinist in the Lowell Textile Mills, and later created and operated the Wamesit Miniature Golf park on Main Street in Tewksbury. He purchased and operated the Good Luck Trailer Court in Salem, NH, for four decades.

He leaves one nephew, and his dear friends Theresa and Roger Marion of Chelmsford.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Nancy Eddy, and brothers Robert Tareila and Walter Tareila.

At his request funeral services through the Tewksbury Funeral Home are private.
