Laurie J. Meuse, 53

Laurie J. (Chatterton) Meuse, age 53, a resident of Tewksbury for 21 years, formerly of North Reading and Quincy, passed away at the Massachusetts General Hospital on Wednesday evening, June 25, 2014, following a courageous battle with Lymphoma.

She was the beloved wife of Thomas C. Meuse with whom she would have celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary on October 5, 2014.

Born in Scituate on July 8, 1960, she was the daughter of Ellen M. (Syvertsen) (Chatterton) Gorry, who survives her, of Quincy.

Laurie was raised in Quincy, attended Quincy Schools and graduated from Quincy High School in 1978.

Following high school, she attended the University of Massachusetts at Boston, where she received her Degree in Business Management.

Prior to her diagnosis with cancer, Laurie worked for over 12 years as a substitute Teacher for the Tewksbury Public School System.

Laurie was the former Director of the Tewksbury Vacation Bible School held at St. William's Church.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her husband and mother, survivors include her daughters, Samantha S. and Abigail R. Meuse both of Tewksbury; her granddaughter, Scarlett E. Meuse; her siblings, Bonnie F. Canfield, Kathie A. Osborne, Nancy E. Gurney, Mike J. Gorry, Susan L. Bottary, Heidi Miller and Michael Weider; and Tommy's caring family; also many nieces and nephews.

Laurie's family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Jeffrey Barnes, Jerry Browne-R.N., Brianne McGree-N.P., and the wonderful Staff at Mass. General Hospital for caring for and supporting Laurie.

Calling hours are Tuesday, July 1, from 5-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 2, at 11 a.m., at the Tewksbury Congregational Church, 10 East St., Tewksbury. There will not be a procession from the funeral home. Please proceed directly to church. Interment will follow at Tewksbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Meuse.
