Hulkamaniacs by the hundreds gathered on Saturday, some waiting up to eight hours, for the chance to meet pro wrestling legend Hulk Hogan.
Hogan, along with WWE Hall of Fame manager Jimmy "Mouth of the South" Hart, were in town for the grand opening of the Tewksbury Sports Club. Hogan and TSC owner Pat Centrino have been friends for more than 30 years.
Hogan, Hart and their entourage arrived in style in a stretch Hummer Limo, complete with an escort provided by a Tewksbury Police cruiser and scores of motorcycle riders.
"I know John Cena was born around here (West Newbury) but Hulk Hogan owns Massachusetts," said Hogan, which brought a roar of approval from the crowd.
After addressing the fans, Hogan went inside, where he and Hart signed autographs and greeted fans. Upwards of 1,000 people attended the event, the first of whom arrived at 7:30 a.m. for Hogan's 3 p.m. arrival.
While waiting in line, fans were entertained by live music and had a chance to check out some classic muscle cars, including a "Hulkamania" hot rod tricked out in yellow and red.
Editor Bill Gilman was on hand put together a photo gallery and video presentation that captured the sites and sounds of the event.

Fans were more than happy to stand in line for hours for the chance to meet pro wrestling legend Hulk Hogan.
