Police Log: Motorcycle Thefts And Turkeys Send Dog To The Hospital

On Saturday, July 26, Police received a call at 8:50 a.m. from a resident of Halstead Tower Apartments on Old Boston Road. The female caller reported that someone had stolen her motorcycle sometime overnight. An officer was dispatched to the location and a report was taken. The vehicle was aded to the regional stolen vehicle data base.
Just before 3 p.m. on Saturday, a female resident of Archstone Avenue walked into Police Headquarters and reported that someone had attempted to steal her motorcycle overnight, as well. An officer interviewed the resident and filed a report. Police are looking into whether the two cases are related.
Wild turkeys send dog to the hospital
On Saturday, July 25, Police received a call around 8:30 a.m. from a resident of Pleasant Street. The caller reported that a group of wild turkeys in the neighborhood had caused his neighbor's dog to have a seizure. An officer provided the caller with the names and telephone numbers of two animal hospitals that could provide assistance.
Patrick Hanafin, 21, 4 Homestead Lane, Billerica, was arrested on July 25 and charged with OPUI-liquor, Marked Lanes violation, Negligent operation of a motor vehicle and Driving an unregistered motor vehicle.
Jamie M. Cohoon, 37, 12 Essex St., Lowell, was arrested on Friday, July 25, and was charged with Possession of a Class B Substance with Intent To Distribute and Possession of a Class C Substance with Intent To Distribute .
Monday, July 28, 6:42 p.m. -- Officers responded to a 911 call for a motor vehicle accident at 846 Main St., in front of Cappalini's. An ambulance was also summonsed. One victim was taken to Lowell General Hospital Saints Campus with non-life-threatening injuries. Both vehicles were towed.
Monday, July 28, 8:27 p.m. -- North Andover Police requested assistance with delivering notification to a resident of Sullivan Parkway regarding a hit and run accident with property damage involving their car.
Monday, July 28, 9:49 p.m. -- A man called 911 and reported he had been physically assaulted in back of Wal-Mart at 333 Main St. Two officers responded, took information and filed a report.
Sunday, July 27, 12:12 a.m. -- A caller reported an intoxicated woman, out of control at a residence on Lancaster Drive. Officers responded to the scene and placed the woman in protective custody.
Sunday, July 27, 1:16 a.m. -- The owner of Jade East, 433 Main St., called police to report two drunk men in his restaurant causing trouble. Officers responded to the scene and spoke to the men. They walked across the street to the Motel Caswell to sleep it off.
Friday, July 25, 5:51 p.m. -- A woman called police from 464 Woburn Street and reported that her friend's car had been stolen sometime overnight. An officer responded to the scene, took the information, filed a report and put the car into the regional stolen vehicle data base.
