Tewksbury Police have released additional information related to an armed robbery at Main Street Liquors, Monday night.

In addition, police have released three grainy images of the suspect, culled from surveillance footage at the store. While the man is masked and the quality of the images is poor, the style and colors of his clothing and his build are clearly visible.

The following is the press release issued by Chief Timothy Sheehan on Wednesday:

On Monday August 4th, 2014, at approximately 9:20 P.M., Tewksbury Police Officers responded to a report of an armed robbery which had just occurred at Main St. Liquors, located at 391 Main St. Upon arrival, Officers were met by the store clerk. The clerk stated that a male party entered the store wearing a black ski mask, stated that he had a gun, and ordered him to empty the cash register. The clerk reported that he observed that the suspect was holding a large steak knife. The suspect fled the store on foot with an undetermined amount of cash.

The suspect was described as being a heavy set light skinned male in his twenties, approximately six feet tall, with hazel eyes, wearing a red sweatshirt/pull-over with white lettering on the left breast, black sweat pants with white stripes down the sides, and what appears to be blue gloves with white writing on the top.
