A Visit From The Buttonwoods Museum

Join Kaleigh Pare, Program Coordinator at the Buttonwoods Museum, to learn about more about institution and a bit about the history of the Merrimack Valley.  Mrs. Pare will also take your questions and offer some insider tips for visiting. Limited to 100 seats.


Friday Night Film: Divergent

Enjoy one of Hollywood’s latest DVD releases.  Divergent is a science fiction adventure starring Shailene Woodley and Theo James.  In a world divided by factions based on virtues, Tris learns she’s Divergent and won’t fit in.  When she discovers a plot to destroy Divergents, Tris and the mysterious Four must find out what makes Divergents dangerous before it’s too late. Tewksbury Substance Abuse Awareness Talk: The Speakers For Hope

Tewksbury’s young people are facing an epidemic of addiction.  The Speakers For Hope program is part of the Gavin Foundation’s continuum of care that includes education, prevention, intervention, treatment and recovery support services through various programs.  The program uses motivational speakers, often young adults who have overcome addiction, to facilitate substance abuse prevention sessions.

Join Sarah Alger, Museum Director of the Paul S. Russell Museum of Medical History and Innovation, to learn about the 200-year evolution of health care and medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital.  Discover the hospital’s important contributions to the medical field and see how these discoveries and advancements have shaped the present.  Mrs. Alger will also take your questions and offer some insider tips for visiting. Limited to 100 seats.

Tuesday Night Talk: Retirement Q&A Forum

Join financial advisor John Spoto, “Financially Speaking” columnist for the Lowell Sun and Eagle Tribune, for his presentation – “Building Up or Spending Down A Retirement Portfolio: An Interactive Forum.”  After a brief presentation, Spoto will answer questions from the audience related to all aspects of retirement.  Spoto is the President and Founder of Sentry Financial Planning. Limited to 100 seats.


A Visit From The Spellman Museum of Stamps and Postal History

Join Henry Lukas, Director of Education at the Spellman Museum of Stamps and Postal History, to learn about one of only two public museums in the country developed to stamp!  Through a multimedia presentation, learn about: the history of the first postage stamp; the most popular U.S. stamps every printed; the Post Office’s criteria to determine a subject for a new stamp; and the U.S. stamps that will be issued in the coming months.  Special attention will be paid to the Boston Post Road.  Various stamps and postal objects will be on display.  Lukas will also take your questions and offer some insider tips for visiting.  Limited to 100 seats.
