Home Sales In Tewksbury Buck State Trend

While the Real Estate market recovery may have hit a bump in the road in July elsewhere around the state, property sales in Tewksbury continue to show steady improvement.
A total of 5,688 single-family homes statewide sold in July, down 4.2 percent from the 5,940 sold during the same month last year, according to the latest report by The Warren Group, publisher of Banker & Tradesman. This marked the first time sales have decreased in the month of July since 2010 when there was a 27.6 percent decrease year-over-year. Year-to-date sales were down 2.3 percent, with 26,965 homes sold in Massachusetts compared with 27,602 during the same period in 2013.
However, 35 single family homes were sold in July, an increase of just over 6 percent over July 2013. Year-to-date single family home sales sales (159) are up 6.7 percent over the same time period in 2013.
The news is even better in the condo market. There were 24 condos sold in Tewksbury in July, that's up a whopping 140 percent from July 2013. For the year, 98 condos have been sold locally, up 18.1 percent over the same time period a year ago.
Values of homes in Tewksbury also continue to rise. The median price of a single family home sold in Tewksbury in July was $369,000. That's up from $320,000 in July 2013.
For condos, the median price for a unit sold in July was $252,500. That's up from $233,300 in July 2013.
