Obituary: Eleanor F. (Altomonte) Butt, 73

Eleanor F. (Altomonte) Butt, age 73, a resident of Lowell for over thirty years and formerly of Tewksbury, died on Monday, September 2, 2014 at home.

She was the devoted wife of the late William F. Butt who died in 1985.

She was born in Boston on August 18, 1941 and was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Angeline ( Duffany) Altomonte. She graduated from Brighton Catholic High School.

Eleanor worked as an accountant for many years until her retirement. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother and cherished the time she spent with her family.

Eleanor is survived by her two loving children, William J. Butt, Sr., and his wife, Donna of Dracut and Sheila A. McDonald of Lowell; four cherished grandchildren, William J. Butt, Jr., Shawn W. Butt, Michael J. McDonald and Felicia M. McDonald and her “soon to be” first great-grandson, Kayden; one brother, Joseph Altomonte of Bellingham. She was also predeceased by a brother, James Altomonte and a sister, Virginia A. Cicero.

A Funeral Service for Eleanor will be held on Friday, September 5, 2014 in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of Dewey and Main Sts. (Rte. 38) Tewksbury Center, phone (800 in MA or 978) 851 2950. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service form 10 AM until 12 Noon. Relatives and friends are welcomed to attend. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Tewksbury.
