Obituary: Robert D. 'Bob' Mulford, 89

Robert D. "Bob" Mulford, age 89, a resident of North Tewksbury, passed away at D'Youville Senior Care on Monday, September 22, 2014.
He was the beloved husband of Mary Helen (Stockwell) Mulford, who passed away on August 30, 2004.
Born in East Hampton, New York on January 1, 1925, he was the son of the late James H. Mulford and the late Sybel (Dominy) Mulford.
Bob was raised in East Hampton, New York, attended East Hampton schools and graduated from East Hampton High School in 1943.
Following graduation, he was inducted into the U.S. Army and served with the 71st Infantry Division during World War II. In 1944, he was transferred overseas to the European Theater and was in Germany at the end of the Battle of the Bulge. He was honorably discharged from active duty on April 28, 1946, having earned the rank of Corporal T-5.
Following his military service, Bob entered Westminster Choir College, where he met his late wife.
Prior to his retirement, he owned and operated Mulford's Men's Shop of East Hampton, NY. He previously worked for his father at the East Hampton Lumber & Coal Co. and later worked for the Southampton Lumber Company.
While residing in New York, he was a member of the Springs Presbyterian Church, where he served as the church organist and elder. In addition, Bob was a member, organist and Past Master of the Star of the East Masonic Lodge # 843 of East Hampton, NY.
Upon moving to Tewksbury in 2001, he joined the First Baptist Church, where he served for the last several years as the organist.
Bob was an affiliate member of the Friendship Masonic Lodge of Wilmington as well as a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason.
He enjoyed music, attending the theatre and the fellowship of his church community.
Bob is survived by one daughter, Carolyn M. Loucraft and her husband Robert, with whom Bob resided, of Tewksbury; one granddaughter, Jennifer L. Humphrey and her husband Patrick of Marathon, FL; one great granddaughter, Amelia Humphrey of Marathon, FL; his sister-in-law, Dorothy Marinoff of Lowell; also many close friends in East Hampton, NY and Tewksbury.
Bob was the brother of the late James H. Mulford, Jr.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, 1500 Andover St., Rte. 133, Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the First Baptist Church, 1500 Andover St., Tewksbury, MA 01876. Arrangements entrusted to Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, Tewksbury.
