Man Is Robbed, Stabbed Outside Restaurant

Tewksbury and State Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place Monday night in which the victim was assaulted with a knife.

According to a Tewksbury Police report, the incident took place just after 8 p.m. outside Chopsticks restaurant on Andover Street near the Lowell line.
The victim told police he was robbed by four men, one of whom slashed the victim across the chest with a knife. The men fled the scene in a dark colored Honda Accord.

The victim then got in his own car and tried to drive for help. He was pulled over by a Tewksbury police officer on North Street after a resident had reported an erratic driver with a muffler dragging along the ground.

After seeing the condition of the driver, the officer called for an ambulance and the was taken to Saints Campus of Lowell General hospital for treatment. His injuries are bot believed to be life threatening.

Meanwhile, additional officers were called to the scene and the Andover K-9 unit was requested. The State Police Crime Scene Unit was also called in to assist with the investigation. A BOLO was put out for the suspects and the vehicle.
