Breakfast Benefit, Cootie Party And Halloween Dance At Senior Center

The Friends of the Elderly will hold a Breakfast Benefit at the Senior Center, 175 Chandler Street, on Sunday, October 5th from 7:30 - 11:00 AM. The menu will include: pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, homefries, beans, toast and beverages. Items from the senior’s yummy bake sale table will also be available for purchase. Tickets are available at the door at the following price: $7 for Adults; $3 for Children under 12; and, Toddlers are free.
The next Casino trip will be Monday, October 6th to Mohegan Sun. Tickets are on sale now. The cost of this trip is $30 per person, which includes motor coach transportation, a casino package and the driver gratuity.
The Upscale Consignment Boutique will hold its “Intake of Items Day” on Monday, October 6th, 2014 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. The Boutique is open during intake and is a good time to shop. The Upscale may just be the place to find it what you are looking for. New consignors are always welcome.
The next men’s group meeting will be held on Thursday, October 9th. All men 60+ are welcome.
The friends of the Elderly will hold an activities meeting on Friday, October 10th at 9:00 AM at the Senior Center. All are welcome.
The Senior Center will be closed on Monday, October 13th for the Columbus Day holiday.
Karen Orband, RN, will be back to the Senior Center next Tuesday, October 14th at 10:00 AM for the “Diabetes Academy” hour. All are welcome to attend this informative hour. Ms. Orband is a wonderful lecturer and comes to the Center each month to talk about Diabetes.
The GAC will hold its monthly meeting on October 14th at 12:00 PM. GAC bingo will begin after the meeting.
The Council on Aging Board will hold its regular monthly meeting Wednesday, October 15th at 12:30 PM in the conference room. All residents of Tewksbury are welcome to attend.
A Senior Center Cootie Party will be held on Monday, October 20th. This is a fun game day and everyone is invited to attend. Don't know how to play...come on down and we'll teach you.
The MS Support Group will hold its monthly meeting on Monday, October 20th at 10:00 AM. Paula Evans, PharmD, MS, CGP of Mass College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences will be in attendance and speak about prescriptions specific to the treatment of MS.
The Red Hat Halloween Party will be held on October 22nd at 6:00 PM. There will be a costume contest, soup and sandwich buffet and entertainment. The cost is $15 per Belle.
The Friends of the Elderly will hold its annual Halloween Dance on October 24th at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $10pp and the costume contest will be at 7:15 PM.
The Senior Center was accepted into this year’s Applefest Craft fair, taking place at the Tewksbury Memorial High School on Saturday October 25th, from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
DJ Jon Mansfield will be back to the Senior Center for an afternoon dance on Monday, October 27th. Those who obtain a ticket by October 22th will have lunch included in the $6 tickets price.
The Senior Center will hold a dance featuring the musical entertainment of the Fred Manzi Band on Friday, November 7th at 7:00 PM. We are thinking about holding an Italian Feast before the dance, including spaghetti and meatballs, raviolis, green salad, garlic bread and desert. We will have the dinner with enough interest, so sign-up in advance. The cost of the dance will be $10/pp, or $20 to include dinner. Tickets are available in advance or at the door. We hope you will come and enjoy yourself at the Senior Center.
