Krochmal Farm Pumpkin Fest Much More Than Just Pumpkins

Oct 07, 2014 04:31PM ● By Bill Gilman

If you think the Krochmal Farm Pumpkin Fest in just another "pick your own pumpkin" opportunity, then you are missing out on a whole day of family fun.

Oh sure, there are are pumpkins of all sizes and you can pick them right off the vine! But Pumpkin Fest at Krochmal Farms is much more than just a plain old patch!

"We feel like we have something for the whole family," said Jenny Nagle, a member of the Caves family, which owns Krochmal Farm and runs Pumpkin Fest. "We have Horse-drawn hay rides, pony rides, an animal petting area and agricultural exhibits,"
And topping it all off, Krochmal Farms has created the biggest corn maze in the history of Pumpkin Fest. Nagle says it's easily twice as big as last year's maze and has more twists, turn and dead ends, making it fun for youngsters and challengers for maze enthusiasts.

Pumpkin Fest also offers "Shadowboxing" -- a farm stamping scavenger hunt, a snack shack featuring sausages, burgers, hot dogs, etc. and local vendors with a variety of offerings.

Krochmal Farm is located at 81 Jennie's Way, Tewksbury, just off South Street. Pumpkin Fest runs every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Oct. 26.  It is also  open on Monday, Oct. 13 (Columbus Day) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Admission and Parking are free.
The last two weekends in October, Krochmal Farm will also be hosting a Children's Safe Trick or Treat event, which runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. It features a horse-drawn hayride through the farm making stops at your favorite childhood characters, who give the children candy. Costumes aren't required but it definitely makes it more fun!
