Jointly sponsored by the Lowell Sun, the Tewksbury and Wilmington Town Crier, andYourTewksburyToday.com.
Candidates for the Massachusetts State House and Senate will face off October 21 on stage at the McGrath Center at Tewksbury Memorial High School.
Incumbent Representative Jim Miceli, D-Wilmington, will face former Tewksbury Selectman Douglas Sears at 7 p.m. followed by former representative Barbara L’Italien taking on current chair of the Andover Board of Selectmen Alex Vispoli at 8:10 pm.
Media partners YourTewksburyToday, Lowell Sun and Tewksbury and Wilmington Town Crier, are teaming up to present a panel discussion at the McGrath Performing Arts Center inside TMHS at 320 Pleasant Street, Tewksbury. The public is invited to attend. Plenty of free parking is available and the facility is handicapped accessible.
The debate format will begin with one-minute opening statements from each candidate, followed by a question round with eight to twelve questions posed to candidates by our panel. Questions will be directed at a specific candidate for a two-minute response. Opposing candidates will each have a one-minute rebuttal.
Following the question round, candidates will then be given the opportunity to ask one question of their opponent. Each opponent will be given one minute to answer the question and the questioner will be given 30 seconds for a rebuttal.
Finally, each candidate will be afforded a one-minute closing statement.
