The Motel Caswell, a Route 38 landmark for more than 50 years, was torn down last week to make room for Wamesit Lanes.
Russ Caswell sold the motel and the property it sits on to local developer Donald MacLaren earlier this year. MacLaren is building a $12 million recreation complex featured a bowling alley, arcade, bocce courts, golf simulators and a 140-seat restaurant.
MacLaren hopes to be open for business within a year.
