For high school sports fans, playoff time is the best time of the year.
And for Tewksbury High fans, there will be plenty of playoff action over the next 2-3 weeks.
Pairings have been announced for the football and field hockey tournaments and the TMHS now know their roads to a championship will begin. Soccer pairings are expected to be released Tuesday.

The defending Division 3 state champs are 5-2 and are seeded third in the Division 3 Northeast Tournament. The Redmen will host No. 6 Danvers (3-4) in the opening round on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Doucette Field.
Should Tewksbury beat Danvers, as expected, it would move on to face the winner of No. 2 Marblehead (7-0) vs. No. 7 Somerville (2-5) in the semifinals on Friday, Nov. 7.
Masconomet (6-1) is the top seed in the bracket and host No. 8 Revere (2-5) in the opening round. No. 5 Wilmington (3-4) visits No. 4 Beverly (3-4) in the opening round on Saturday.

Ir's been an up and down year for Tewksbury High, but the Redmen snuck into the tournament with an 8-10-0 record. The Redmen are the bottom seed in the 13-team tournament and will have to travel to No. 4 Marblehead (13-4-2) for an opening-round game on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at The Stadium.
Should Tewksbury be able to pull the upset, it would advance to face the winner of No. 5 Triton (12-4-2) vs. No. 12 Manchester-Essex (5-5-8) in the quarterfinals on Friday.
Watertown, the No. 1 seed at 18-0-0, gets a first-round bye and will meet the winner of Wednesday's game between No. 8 Wilmington (9-4-5) and No. 9 Newburyport (9-5-4) in the quarterfinals on Friday.
