To The Editor:
I think that we can all agree that taking care of our parents, grandparents, and other elderly loved ones as they age is a priority. There’s nothing worse than watching someone you love suffer from dementia, cancer, or any of the myriad of health problems that can occur over the years.
It comforts me to know that there are candidates in the race like Barbara L’Italien who have prioritized caring for the elderly. I‘ve heard of Barbara’s work to ensure that the elderly have access to community-based programs to help them as they age. She’s also prioritized making health coverage affordable for the elderly and made sure that programs are available to keep them safe and healthy.
You can tell a lot about someone’s character when you see how he or she cares for those who cannot care for themselves. Knowing that Barbara cares so deeply for seniors and individuals with disabilities and will represent us in the Senate makes me feel a lot better about the future of both our cities and towns, and Massachusetts as a whole. There’s no doubt about it, I’m voting for Barbara L’Italien on Tuesday!
