Opening Date Announced For Brave Troops Buffet

The subject of speculation for months, the new Brave Troops Buffet restaurant, 1777 Main St., is just about ready to open its doors to the public.
"We are looking at an opening date of Nov. 10," said owner Ming Guang Zheng, in a telephone interview.
According to Zheng, the restaurant will feature a variety of Chinese and Japanese entrees, side dishes and appetizers. According to the website (, the restaurant will serve a dinner buffet, as well as a lower-priced lunch buffet. There are also special prices for children. Take out is also available.
The restaurant is located in the former Rite-Aid Pharmacy space, a storefront that has been vacant for several years. Renovation work on the space began in the spring.
When asked about the unusual name to the restaurant, Zheng referred to the website, which offers the following narrative of the Chinese legend of "Brave Troops":

Brave Troops Buffet will be open Mon. - Thurs.: 11:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m., Fri. - Sat.: 11:00 a.m. - 10:30 p.m. and Sunday: 11:30 a.m. - 9:30 p.m.
