Holy Cross women's soccer freshman forward Aly Spencer (Tewksbury, Mass.) was named the 2014 Patriot League Rookie of the Year, as voted on by the league's head coaches. She is the third Crusader in program history to earn Rookie of the Year joining Kirsten Eckman (1990) and Katherine Donnelly (2008). In addition, Spencer, senior midfielder Gina Righini (Salem, N.H.) and senior defender Ally Pasquariello (Suffield, Conn.) were named first, second and third team All-Patriot League, respectively.
In her freshman campaign, Spencer played and started in all 18 games and recorded 11 goals and three assists for 25 total points, including five game-winning goals. Her goals, points and game-winning goals marks all rank first in the Patriot League. Spencer also became the 14th player in program history to record a hat trick, and for her efforts earned the Disney Soccer/NSCAA National Player of the Week Award on Sept. 2. Spencer's goals and points are tied for third and fifth, respectively, in the Holy Cross single season record book. She was twice named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week in 2014.
