Tewksbury To Honor Its Veterans In Four Ceremonies This Week

Tewksbury veterans will be honored for their service with four ceremonies over the next two days.
On Monday, Nov. 10, an assembly will take place at Tewksbury Memorial High School at 9:30 a.m., featuring guest speaker Technical Sergeant Cheryl Przytula from Hanscom Air Force Base. Veterans from the VFW, American Legion, and Disabled American Veterans will be in attendance.
TSgt. Przytula is a 16-year veteran of the Air Force and is presently a trumpeter with the USAF Band of Liberty. (Her complete biography can be found in a PDF document attached to this story.)
On Veterans Day, Tuesday, Nov. 11, a ceremony at 8:30 a.m. will take place at the Bayberry Assisted Care Facility to honor veterans living there. At 9 a.m., a ceremony will take place at the Blair House to honor veterans living there. The Blair House ceremony will feature a Flag Ceremony by the VFW Post 8164 Honor Guard and a performance by the Tewksbury High Band directed by Andrew Walsh.
At 11 a.m., the town's annual Veterans Day Ceremony will take place on the Town Common, featuring guest speaker, Colonel Amanda G. Kato, the Senior Materiel Leader for the ACAT 1D Family of Advanced Beyond-Line-of-Sight Terminals (FAB-T) Program, Hanscom Air Force Base.
Kato is a 22-year veteran of the Air Force. According to her biography, she "leads more than 130 people in the design, development, production and delivery of $4.2B worth of multi-mission capable airborne and ground based terminals providing satellite communications to enhance non-traditional ISR, anti-access/denied airspace interoperability, and nuclear survivability capabilities for both strategic and tactical forces."

Tuesday's ceremony on the common will also feature speeches by numerous local officials, as well as musical performances by the Tewksbury High Band and the Swingin' Seniors. There will also be the traditional laying of the wreaths at each of the town's war veteran monuments.
1. Ceremony at the Town Common on 11/11 @ 11am with guest speaker from Hanscom AFB, Col Kato.
2. Ceremony at Bayberry at 0830 on 11/11 honoring Veterans living there.
3. Ceremony at the Blair House on 11/11 at 0900 honoring Veterans living there. Flag ceremony by VFW Post 8164 Honor Guard and Tewksbury Memorial HS Band directed by Andrew Walsh.
4. Assembly at Tewksbury Memorial HS on 11/10 at 0930 with guest speaker from Hanscom AFB, TSgt Przytula. Veterans from VFW, American Legion, and Disabled American Veterans along with myself will be in attendance and recognized for service.
