More than 500 residents turned out Tuesday to honor and say 'thank you' to local heroes at the 2014 Tewksbury Veterans Day Ceremony on the Town Common.
Elected officials taking part in the event included Todd Johnson, chairman of the Board of Selectmen, state Rep. Jim Miceli, state Sen. Barry Finegold and state Sen.-elect Barbara L'Italien.

Local veterans laid wreaths at each of the town's war memorials.
Local Scout troops also participated in the ceremony and music was provided by the Tewskbury Memorial High School Band and the Swingin' Seniors.
