Tewksbury Police Department.

A 30-year-old Tewksbury man is being held without bail after allegedly trying to gouge out the eye of his father during a fight at their home.

Matthew B. Pariseau is charged with mayhem, possession of a Class C drug, aggravated assault and battery and assault and battery.

According to court records, police responded to a 911 call from the victim, who said he had a feeling that something bad was about to happen involving his son. The police arrived on scene and were met by a family member screaming for help. They entered the home and found the 54-year old victim covered in blood and Pariseau “out of control” and being restrained by a friend.

Doctors told investigators the victim lost sight in his right eye and would require surgery to regain any level of vision in it.

A district court judge ruled that Pariseau was a danger to society and ordered him jailed until his next court date, Dec. 19.
