Habitat For Humanity To Host Community Information Night Regarding Tewksbury Project

The next step in Habitat For Humanity's plans to build a home in Tewksbury will take place on Friday, Nov. 14, with a community Volunteer/Supporter Information Night.
The information night will take place from 7 to 8 p.m. in the sanctuary at the Tewksbury Congregational Church, 10 East St.
Habitat for Humanity plans to build a home on State Street, with construction scheduled to begin next spring. The process for selecting a homeowner is underway.
According to a TCC representative, Habitat for Humanity has a long history of partnering with local churches to help organize volunteers and coordinate donations.The meeting is open to the public but the following groups are certainly encouraged to attend.
- Residents who are interested in volunteering at the build site (framing, painting, cabinet hanging, etc…) or assisting with tasks like grant writing, lunch preparation, fundraising and marketing. (On-the-job training provided!)
- Contractors who are interested in donating labor or materials specifically needed for the build.
- Local organizations, businesses and families/individuals who wish to contribute (any amount) toward the 50K needed to complete the house.
According to organizers, the one-hour session will provide attendees with an overview of the Habitat for Humanity organization, the homeowner selection process, and the needs for the first Tewksbury Habitat Build. There will be opportunities for to ask questions and to register to volunteer your time or to donate money or materials.
