Notes from Tewksbury Memorial High School for the School Committee.
SADD -- The 1st week of December they will be running a "week of kindness" in the school
International Club Field trip to the Museum of Fine Arts got approved for December 8th. International Club and students in the Spanish 5 class will be attending.
Student Council -- Our leaf raking for the elderly program and food drive are underway. We are also planning a charity drive and the pep rally. We will be going to the Special Olympics unified bocce tournament this Saturday in Grafton.
National Honor Society -- Tutoring is on Tuesday afternoons and Friday mornings in the library. Echo Preparing for winter wonderland on 13th of December and a blood drive in December.
Senior Class Council -- Selling merchandise. Considering putting on a juniorsenior dance and a movie night. They will also be helping to run Tewksbury's got talent.
Tolerance Core/The GayStraight Alliance -- Using the month of November to tribute Julia Roberts who recently accepted the humanitarian award for her show The Normal Heart about AIDS. If approved, they would like to create a timeline for the LGBTQ community to put up in the school.
Junior Classical League had a good field trip to the Worcester Art Museum.
Chem Club -- Dissected eyeballs earlier this week
DECA -- The Meghan McCarthy Fashion show is nearing. Mr. Sullivan is collecting final donations for the show that will take place November 20th. Also, powderpuff t-shirts are in! They are available for pick up starting November 5 in the school store. Additionally, the school store is selling tshirts, notebooks, and Gatorade products. There are long sleeve tshirts for $15 and short sleeve tshirts for $10. The Gatorade products consist of chews and bars. The bars are $2 and the chews are $1.50.
