It may be a White Thanksgiving.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Tewksbury and the surrounding area from 7 a.m. Wednesday through 7 a.m. Thursday.

Snowfall is expected to be heavy at times with an accumulation of 6 to 9 inches. There may also be a trace of ice, which could make driving conditions extra dangerous during the Wednesday rush hour.

The storm is expected to start as rain around daybreak on Wednesday. It will gradually change over to a wintry mix and then to all snow by Wednesday evening. The snow is expected to taper off by Thursday morning.

The storm is expected to make driving conditions dangerous on Wednesday and into the Thanksgiving Holiday travel.

Winds are expected to be from the North at 15-20 MPH with gusts up to 40 MPH.
