LOWELL - Jeffrey Clyde Vance, age 59, died from an accidental fall from a tractor trailer truck in Brimfield, MA, on Thursday evening, December 11th.
Jeff was born in Somerville, on September 4, 1955, a son of Mary (Grant) Vance of Tewksbury and the late Clyde Vance who died in 1990. He was raised in Tewksbury and graduated from Tewksbury Memorial High School with the Class of 1973.
He was a member of AFL-CIO Teamsters, Local 25, and was working as an automobile transport truck driver for the Jack Cooper Transport Company, locally based in Charlton, MA, at the time of his death.
Jeff served as a civilian contractor during Operation Enduring Freedom, as a truck driver in Iraq during the war.
He was devoted to his family, was an avid motorcyclist, and loved snow skiing, snowmobiling, sailing, boating, and waterskiing.
Besides his mother, he is survived by three children, Laurel M. Benninghoff and her husband John of KY, Matthew J. Vance and his wife Melise of Hudson, NH, Joselin M. Kvetkosky and her husband Thomas of Manchester, NH; two beloved grandsons, Jamison Vance and Samuel Vance; two sisters, Brenda J. Rich and her husband John of Pelham, NH, Debra G. Vance and her wife Elaine of Dracut; a brother, Roger S. Vance and his wife Carol of Syracuse, NY; his former wife, Sandra (Donnelly) Vance of KY; uncles; two nieces, Stacey and Stefanie; and a nephew, John Paul.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Wendy Vance and Carol Vance.
Visiting hours Wednesday, Dec. 17, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, Ph. (800 in MA or 978) 851 2950.
