High School Roundup: Redmen Girls Fall To Chelmsford, Rams Roll Over Innovation Academy

Chelmsford 42, Tewksbury 27
Tewksbury's Emily Velozo poured in a game-high 19 points, but it wasn't enough, as the Redmen fell to Chelmsford Tuesday night. Sara DaSilva has 12 points to pace Chelmsford (2-0).
The Redmen drop to 1-1 on the young season.
Boys Basketball
Shawsheen Tech 60, Innovation Academy 38
The Shawsheen Tech boys basketball team opened its season with a convincing win over Innovation Academy, 60-38 on Tuesday.
Leading the way for the Rams was senior Patrick DeCourcey with 14 points. The Rams will play at Matignon High next.
Wrestling
Shawsheen Tech captures Mount Hope Tournament
The Shawsheen Tech wrestling team won the 20 -team Mount Hope Tournament over the weekend with 164 points. The Rams got a solid overall team effort in the win.
Winning their weight classes were Efrain Torres at 160 pounds and Joe Fusco at 220 pounds .
2nd Place -- 106 Jake Ferri and 126 pounds Bryce Spinosa. 3rd place -- Tyler Tedford and 152 pounds Josh Merrifield. 4th place -- Chris Arkalis and 195 Matthew Finn.
Every Shawsheen Tech wrestler won at least two matches to score points and help secure the team win.
All Tewksbury High and Shawsheen Tech winter sports teams, including Varsity, JV and Freshman, are invited to submit scores and highlights after each game or match to Bill@yourtewksburytoday.com
