Girls Hockey

Central Catholic 8, Shawsheen Tech 4

Kate O’Shea scored twice but it wasn’t enough, as Shawsheen Tech fell to Central Catholic.

Rachel Stocker and Kasie Conti added a goal and an assist each for the Rams in the loss.

Chelmsford 8, Tewksbury/Methuen  3

Tewksbury/Methuen battled Chelmsford hard for two periods before the Lions pulled away with four goals in the third period to pick up the victory in the season-opener for both teams.

Amanda Conway had a hat trick to lead the T/M offense. Julianne Sheehan had two goals and two assists for Chelmsford.

Boys Hockey

Shawsheen Tech 5, Bishop Fenwick 3

Senior forward Ryan Collins had two goals and three assists to lead Shawsheen Tech (2-0) to a 5-3 win over Bishop Fenwick.

The victory was No. 600 in the history of the Rams’ hockey program. 

Hunter Sawicki added a pair of goals for the Rams, while Zach Buckland scored his first varsity goal.

Ryan Barnard picked up the victory in net, turning aside 18 shots.
