TMHS Wins Two of Three 

After dropping its opening game in an eye opening 9-0 loss on the road to Chelmsford on Dec. 11,  the Tewksbury High JV boys hockey team rebounded with a 5-1 home win on Saturday Dec. 20 over Methuen and a 3-1 road winat Haverhill.
In the win over Haverhill, Tewksbury took an early lead in the first period when freshman Nick Walsh scored by banging in a rebound off of sophomore Jake Scanlon's shot from the point. Freshman Patrick Hunt also picked up an assist on the play.
In the second period, Tewksbury picked up insurance goals by Jake Scanlon, assisted by freshman Colby Pierce and junior Jonathan Verrill, assisted by sophomore Tim Morris.
Tewksbury has been anchored in their two wins by solid goaltending from freshman Trevor Harris who has turned away all but one shot in each of the last two games.
 "After a tough start in our first game at Chelmsford the kids came back strong to pick up two wins and get it back on track," said Redmen coach Shawn Scott. "They're a good group of young kids. They're getting better every day and we're all excited for the rest of the season ahead." 

Shawsheen Tech Wins First Three Dual Meets

 The Shawsheen Tech wrestling  team  headed  into  the  Lowell  Holiday  Tournament  with a 3-0 record in dual  meets. The Rams beat  Essex  Tech, Tyngsboro  High,  and  Lowell  High.
The  Rams  placed  second  in  the  Wilmington  Sons  of  Italy Wrestling  Tournament, which included 16 teams. 
"This  was  a  great  team  effort," said Shawsheen Coach Mark Donovan. "We  are  fighting  through  some  early  injuries  and  kids  are  stepping  up  to  the  plate."

Varsity Boys Hockey

Westwood 8, Shawsheen Tech 1

Shawsheen Tech dropped to 2-2-1 on the season with a non-league loss to Westwood. Senior Ryan Collins had the Rams' lone goal. Tom Avigis had the assist.

Girls Varsity Hockey

Marblehead 11, Shawsheen Tech 0

The owerhouse Marblehead girls  rolled over Shawsheen Tech, 11-0. With the loss, the Rams drop to 0-4-0 on the season. Kate O'Shea and Rachel Stocker had strong games for Shawsheen Tech, despite the loss.

Varsity Boys Basketball

Shawsheen 48, Matignon 36

Defense was the name of the game, as Shawsheen Tech improved to 2-0 on the season with a 48-36 win over Matignon.

Senior Patrick DeCourcey dropped in 15 points and pulled down seven rebounds for the Rams. Sean Hines chipped in with 12 points and five rebounds.
