Event Information: All library events below are intended for adults.  Events are free, but registration is required.  Register by calling 978-640-4490 x 205, emailing rhayes@mvlc.org, or visiting the library’s online calendar of events at www.tewksburypl.org.  Events are typically held in the library’s first-floor Meeting Room.  Events are sponsored by the Friends of the Tewksbury Public Library.  Film screenings are co-sponsored by the Tewksbury Lions Club.

Local History Talk: Explore The Lowell National Historical Park with Paul Marion
Wednesday, January 7, 7pm
Join author Paul Marion as he discusses his new book, Mill Power: The Origin and Impact of Lowell National Historical Park, an insider’s account of how one of the park was created.  Paul, now the Executive Director of Community Relations at UMass Lowell, previously served as an administrator with the Lowell Historical Preservation Commission.  Q&A and book signing after the talk.  Limited to 50 seats.

Travel Talk: Take A Virtual Tour of Machu Picchu & The Sacred Valley of the Incas with Bryan & Linda Higgs

Join Nancy Nee Hanifin, co-chair of the Boston Chapter of the American Pilgrims on the Camino, as she shares slides about the history, culture, and legacy of the Camino de Santiago.  Every year, thousands of modern-day pilgrims walk a centuries-old, 500-mile trail leading to the tomb of St. James in Santiago, Spain.  Learn why so many, like Nancy, are drawn to make this journey.  Limited to 50 seats.

Author Visit: An Evening with Shannon Carter, Heir of Tara author
Wednesday, January 14, 7pm
Join local author Shannon Carter as she discusses her debut teen fantasy, The Heir of Tara. Her novel combines Celtic mythology with the story of the Salem Witch Trials.   Fans of either are sure to enjoy this book!  Q&A and book signing after the talk.  Free refreshments.  Limited to 50 seats.

Travel Talk: Take A Virtual Getaway To Paris with Jeff Klapes

Join Jeff Klapes, the “Traveling Librarian,” as he shares slides and stories of Paris and a discussion of the geography and culture of that area.  Jeff will take you on a personal journey through the many neighborhoods of Paris, stopping in famous cafes and bistros along the way.  You’ll also take several easy daytrips to the sights in the Ile-de-France region surrounding Paris, including Orleans, Provins, Laon and the chateaux of Versailles and Rambouillet.  Limited to 50 seats.

Travel Talk: Take A Virtual Vacation Across Europe with David & Nancy Dillon
