Greater Lowell 96, Shawsheen 87
The Rams fell short in their swim meet against Greater Lowell but two Shawsheen Tech relay teams swam well enough to qualify for the Sectional Meet.
Qualifying were the 400 freestyle relay of Melissa King, Lauren Barletta, Molly Harrington and Nicole Kopacz, and the 200 freestyle relay team of Lauren Barletta, Lauren Liscio, Nicole Kopacz, and Molly Harrington.
Girls Varsity Basketball
Shawsheen Tech 56, St. Joe's Prep 48
Senior Emily Irwin had a monster game, leading the Rams past St. Joe's Prep. Irwin finished with the game with 28 points and seven rebounds to go along with a whopping 12 steals.
Shawsheen 53, Innovation 6
Stifling defense led Shawsheen (3-5) to an easy win over Innovation Academy.
Irwin had another big game with 22 points and 13 steals. Mackenzie Griffin chipped in with nine points.

Shawsheen Tech 39, Chelsmford 38
Shawsheen Tech 39, Greater Lowell Tech 33
The Shawsheen Tech wrestling team lost its first match of the season in a quad meet at Chelmsford High against Top 10 ranked Arlington High, 42 -24.
The Rams bounced back to beat Billerica High, 54-24, while Chelmsford High beat Arlington by 19 points. The Rams were 1-1 for the day going into their match against Chelmsford High. The Rams woke up and had a great team effort and beat Chelmsford, 39-38.
On Jan. 7, Shawsheen Tech wrestled arch league rival Greater Lowell. The Rams won, 39-33. Individual winners for the Rams Were 06 -- Jake Ferri, 113 -- Tyler Tedford, 126 -- Bryce Spinosa, 145 -- Josh Merrifield, 160 -- Chris Arkalis, 195 -- Matthew Finn , 220 -- Joe Fusco, 285 -- Anthony Godin. With the win, the Rams improved to 9-1 overall and 3-0 in the league.
Chelmsford 48, Tewksbury 27
Tewksbury fell to 5-5-1 on the season with a loss against a rugged Chelmsford squad.

113: Tim Rivers (T) dec. Jon Arroyo, 11-8.
120: Ryan Wackrow (T) pinned Dan Should, 3:34.
138: Brendan O'Connor (T) pinned Tim Scaplen, 1:15.
152: Ryan Carey (T) dec. Anthony Abruzzio, 9-2.
195: Broc Dokos (T) pinned Jake Ferrer, 1:11.
Boys Varsity Hockey
Shawsheen 10, Ludlow 0
Freshman Matt Irwin scored a pair of shorthanded goals and added an assist, as Shawsheen Tech (4-2-1) rolled over Ludlow.
For the game, the Rams scored three shorthanded goals.Sean Collins had two goals and an assist. Dan Huckins added a pair of goals. Tom Avtgis chipped in with a goal and two assists.
Ryan Barnard turned aside 18 shots for his third shutout of the season.
Tewksbury 5, Bedford 2
Colin Quinn and Ryan Petti once again led the Tewksbury attack in a solid MV/DCL crossover win over Bedford.
Ryan Sheehan scored the first varsity goal of his career for Tewksbury (6-1). David Dempsey and Sean Brady also scored. Ryan Meade chipped in with two assists for the Redmen.
Christopher Raymond got the win in net with 15 saves.
Boys Varsity Basketball
Triton 63, Shawsheen 40
Shawsheen Tech fell to 2-3 on the season with a loss to Triton Regional.
Sean Hines dropped in 11 points to lead the Rams. Patrick DeCourcey added nine.
Girls Varsity Hockey
Peabody 6, Shawsheen 1
Shawsheen Tech (0-6), still searching for its first win, were overmatched on the road at Peabody.
Taylor Lynch scored an unassisted goal in the third period for the Rams.
