Tewksbury Public Schools is pleased to offer several preschool experiences for youngsters who are three- and four-years old. These preschool experiences are available at the Tewksbury Integrated Preschool at the Dewing School, the Child Development Program at TMHS, and the Community Education Program at the Heath Brook School. Children are offered places in these programs based on their participation in a lottery drawn in late March. Parents or guardians who are interested in enrolling their children in the lottery should contact the Dewing School by phone at 978-640-7858 or by emailing email@example.com and leaving contact information.
There are three different preschool options for children enrolled in the lottery. These are the Integrated Preschool Program, the Child Development Program and the Community Education Preschool Program.
The Tewksbury Integrated Preschool Program is a program for three- and four-year old children. Up to half of the enrollment in a classroom may be children with special education needs who have an Individual Education Plan. At least half of the children in each class are typically developing three- and four-year olds living in Tewksbury whose parents pay a modest tuition. Children participate in this program four half-days/week.
The Child Development Program at Tewksbury Memorial High School enrolls typically developing four-year old children only. This program meets for three half-days each week. Their program is taught by High School students enrolled in child development courses at TMHS.
The Tewksbury Public Schools Community Education Preschool Program is held at the Heath Brook School. This program enrolls typically developing three-and four-year old children for five full days/week.
Because a great number of parents have expressed interest in having their children attend these programs, a lottery will be held with the names of all eligible children to determine who will participate. Transportation for all children is the responsibility of the parent. Parents/guardians interested in having their child participate in one of these three programs must sign up for the lottery by March 15, 2015 by calling the Dewing School or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Parents/guardians will receive a follow-up phone call to confirm all information.
