Meghan Braciska of Tewksbury, a junior at Austin Prep in Reading, was named the Most Outstanding Player on the Girls Varsity Soccer Team.
Braciska, a mid-fielder, led the team with 12 assists, second highest in the Catholic Conference. She scored two goals and was a defensive presence throughout the season. She was selected as a league All-Star for the second consecutive season as well as being a Captain for the Cougars.
“Meghan is the engine that makes our team go,” stated Coach Tim Phelan.
The program graduated 10 seniors from last year and started 5 freshman and 3 sophomores who had never previously played varsity but overachieved with a respectable 6-7-5 record, missing the state tournament by one game.
“Not only is she an exceptional soccer player but was also a great leader for a young team. Nobody works harder or is more committed to the team or game than Meghan. While she is talented on the field, she is even a better person off. We are fortunate to have her,” Phelan said.
In addition to her soccer skill, Braciska is an Honors student and member of the National Honor Society.
