Tewksbury Braces For Biggest Storm Of The Season

Jan 23, 2015 08:07PM ● Published by Bill Gilman

It might not be a blizzard or even a storm of major proportions. But the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the Merrimack Valley from midnight through 7 p.m. Saturday.
Snow will be heavy at times with an accumulation of 4-8 inches. A light accumulation of ice is also possible.
According to the NWS, the snow is expected to begin in the morning and may mix with freezing rain, making roads treacherous. It's expected to change back into snow only Saturday afternoon.
Travel is expected to be difficult and power outages are possible, as there is always a risk of trees and wires coming down under the weight of snowand ice.
The high temperature Saturday is expected to be around 33 degrees, with winds at 10-15 mph and gusts up to 20 mph.
