High School Roundup: Chelmsford Rolls Over Redmen, Rams Clinch League Title

Essex 46, Shawsheen 45
A last-second free throw spoiled an amazing comeback for Shawsheen Tech, as the Rams lost a heartbreaker to Essex Tech.
Freshman guard Carmine Rogato (14 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists) led Shawsheen back from a 12-point deficit in the first half. The Rams tied the game in the fourth quarter, only to see Essex (7-3) win it on a free throw with six-tenths of a second left on the clock.
Sophomore Sean Hines had 10 points for Shawsheen, which dropped to 4-6 on the season. Ryan Donnell added seven points and 12 rebounds.
Shawsheen 58, Notre Dame 56
Two free throws by Mackenzie Griffin with just 3.6 seconds to play proved to be the difference, as Shawsheen won a thriller against Notre Dame Academy.
Emily Irwin paced the Rams with a game-high 21 points for the Rams (8-5). Malorie Kiehl chipped in with 11 and Griffin finished with six points.
Chelmsford 54, Tewksbury 37
Chelmsford proved why they are one of the top teams in the state, rolling to an easy win over the Redmen.
Junior guard Claire Markey posted a rare triple-double for the Lions, who improved to 10-2 on the season. Markey finished with 20 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists.
Shannon Smith paced Tewksbury with nine points. Karalyn Gallella added eight for the Redmen.
Tewksbury dropped to 6-6 with the loss.,
Lynn 6, Shawsheen 4
Lynn exploded for four unanswered goals in the third period to erase a 4-2 deficit and knock off the Rams
Shawsheen Tech dropped to (7-3-1 on the season.
Junior Zach Buckland led the Shawsheen Tech offense with two goals. Sophomore Jon Murray and senior Hunter Sawicki also scored.
Shawsheen Tech 43, Whittier Tech 30
Shawsheen Tech clinched its seventh straight CAC Championship with a 43-30 win over Whittier Tech. The Rams are 5-0 in the league and 19-2 overall.
