Three Tewksbury residents, including a father and son living in a Tewksbury Housing Authority apartment on Saunders Circle, were among four people arrested Tuesday on charges connected with local heroin and cocaine distribution.
According to information provided by the Tewksbury Police Department, Colby Riddle, 27, and Charles Riddle 64, both of 48 Saunders Circle, were arrested as the result of an investigation coordinated by Tewksbury detectives.
Also arrested were Christine Wheaton, 22, of 310 Trull Road, Tewksbury and Edward Ohearn, 28, of 2 Sapling Circle, Nashua, NH.
Details on the investigation and arrests are sketchy. But according to police reports, the arrests were preceded officers pulling over a vehicle with New Hampshire plates, driven by Ohearn, at the Intersection of East Street and Chandler Street, just after 11 a.m. Tuesday.
But according to Police Chief Timothy Sheehan, most of the drugs confiscated were found in a search of the 48 Saunders Circle apartment.
The operation is very similar to one conducted by Tewksbury Detectives on Sunday, involving a motor vehicle stop, an apartment search and the arrests of three people, including two Tewksbury residents, on drug distribution charges.
These two operations seem to indicate an expansion of the Tewksbury PD war on local heroin trafficking, from targeting areas near the highways where traffickers like to conduct business, to local sources of distribution.
- Colby Riddle is charged with Distribution of a Class A Substance (heroin) and Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class A Substance (heroin). In addition, Colby Riddle had two outstanding warrants for his arrest.
- Charles Riddle is charged wit Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class A Substance (heroin) and Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class B Substance (cocaine).
- Christine Wheaton is charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class A Substance (heroin) and in addition had an outstanding arrest warrant for assault and battery.
- Edward Ohearn is charged with Possession of a Class A Substance (heroin).
All four suspects were due to be arraigned at Lowell District Court Wednesday, Feb. 11.
