Tewksbury Habitat Build Invites Residents To Attend Community Leadership Meeting

This lot on State Street is the site for the first Habitat for Humanity project in Tewksbury.
After a very successful Tewksbury Habitat Build kick-off meeting in November, progress on Tewksbury's first Habitat for Humanity House (located at 110 State Street) has understandably moved slowly over the winter months. In addition to the massive amounts of snow that will surely make removal of the existing structure difficult, the folks at Habitat for Humanity of Greater Lowell were required to apply for a variance from the Zoning Board of Appeals due to the complexities of the lot. That said, they are feeling confident that the variance will be approved next week and that things will start taking shape on the lot shortly after that.
Thanks to a significant contribution from Dancing with the Realtors and other financial and in-kind donations from the Town of Tewksbury, Tewksbury Congregational Church, local contractors and an anonymous donor, we have raised approximately 70K toward the 100K required to build the house. With 30K still needed and Groundbreaking scheduled for Friday, April 10th, we are anxious to complete the fundraising for this first home... with the hope that others will follow in the future.
Realizing that we would benefit from the wisdom and experiences of others in our community, we've scheduled a Community Leadership Meeting for Thursday, February 26th at 7:30pm at the Congregational Church to provide an update AND to create an action plan to secure the final 30K toward construction.
I wonder if you would consider attending our meeting?
Thanks for your consideration!
