Tewksbury Home Sales Stay Strong In January, Better Than State Trend

While the sales of single family homes dipped across Massachusetts for the first time in five months, sales in Tewksbury stayed strong.
The Warren Group, publishers of Banker and Tradesman magazine, recently released its figures for sales of single-family homes and condos for the month of January.
According to the report, sales of single-family homes in Tewksbury rose by a modest 5.56 percent in January 2015, compared to January 2014.  By comparison, sales dropped statewide by two percent, marking the first decrease since Septermber 2014.
The average price of a home sold in January in Tewksbury, on the other hand, was $310,000, down 7.45 percent over a year ago. Sale prices across the state actually rose by 1.6 percent, to $320,000.
Sales of condo units were not nearly as strong in January. Condo sales in Tewksbury dropped a whopping 30.77 percent compared to January 2014, although the prices of the condos that did sell were up by more than 60 percent.
Condo sales across the state saw a drop of 10 percent in January, while prices remained virtually unchanged.
