The Tewksbury Police Department's ongoing battle to rid North Tewksbury of drug trafficking continued this week with the arrest of an alleged crack cocaine dealer.

On Tuesday, detectives arrested Shyem Simms, 26,  75 Linden Street, Apartment #1, Lowell for Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class B Substance (crack cocaine).

According to Police Chief Timothy Sheehan, Detectives observed Simms acting suspiciously at the Mobil on the Run, located on Andover Street.  A subsequent motor vehicle stop resulted in the arrest and recovery of narcotics.

Simms was arraigned at Lowell District Court Wednesday morning.

The Tewksbury Police Department urges any citizens who suspect criminal activity to call the Dispatch Center at 978-851-7373.  If you wish to remain anonymous, you can call the Tip Line at 978-851-0175 or send an email to tewks_detectives@tewksbury-ma.gov
