Obituary: Beverly V. Pestana, 91.

DRACUT - Mrs. Beverly V. (Vickery) Pestana, age 91, died peacefully Sunday morning, March 15, at LGH’s Saints Campus, following a long period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of Henry Pestana, who died in 1988.
She was born in Chelmsford on January 1, 1924, a daughter of the late Leon and Florence (Booker) Vickery, and was raised in Lowell. After her marriage, she and her late husband raised their family in Tewksbury, where they resided from 1952 until she moved to Dracut in 2001, after the death of her beloved Henry. She began her working career as a weaver at the Wannalancet Mills, and later worked in the Newmarket Mills. Her last experience before her retirement, was as a counterwoman at McDonalds restaurant on Rogers Street in Lowell, where she had worked for over 9 years.
As a resident of Tewksbury, she was a member of the Tewksbury Congregational Church.
She was remembered as having devoted her life to her family, enjoyed traveling, crocheting and reading. She especially enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She leaves three children, Norbert H. Pestana and his wife Helen (Kilman) of Hampton Beach, NH, Eric L. Pestana of Dracut, and Karen Phelps and her husband David of Dracut, with whom she resided; five grandchildren, Eric Pestana of Tewksbury, Kerri Morales of Lowell, Julie Zaharatos of Atlanta, GA, N. Scott Pestana of Waltham, Kady Phelps of Dracut; five great grandchildren, Henry, Sofia, Susanna, Tomas, and Evangeline; many nieces and nephews; and was sister of Norman Vickery, Ellison Vickery, Marjorie Lee, Russell Vickery, Dorothy Olson, and Harold Vickery.
Visiting hours Wednesday, March 18, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 main Sts. (Rte 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, Ph. (800 in MA or 978) 851 2950. Her Funeral Service will be held Thursday, March 19, at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by burial in Tewksbury Cemetery.
