Tewksbury, MA — This past Sunday morning, many individuals rolled out of bed and wore their pajamas to service at Tewksbury Congregational Church. While TCC always has a “Come As You Are” dress code, this past Sunday was even more unique as they celebrated their first ever Pajama Sunday.
In an effort to raise awareness of the hundreds of local families who simply cannot afford the luxury of cozy new pjs, young and old enjoyed a relaxing morning together. A pajama-decked Cherub Choir featuring over 20 youth grades PreK through third sang about feeling blessed, youth lounged on blankets during a moment for children and the morning wrapped up with hot chocolate, coffee and breakfast treats following service.
With a majority of the church population participating in “Wear a Pair / Bring a Pair”, Pajama Sunday resulted in over 75 pairs of new pajamas being collected for Community Giving Tree, a non-profit organization located on the grounds of the West Boxford Congregational Church and primarily serves families in the Greater Lawrence area.
