College Notebook: Jen Moore Awarded Community Engagement Badge, Becker Inducts Alpha Lambda Delta Members

Jen Moore making a difference in human and ecological communities
Through her Conservation Science & Community course project entitled "Participatory Mapping of Local Sustainable Seafood Availability," Moore engaged the community of Tewksbury, MA in creating a local guide to sustainable seafood options found in the area. Moore is a science teacher at Keverian School.
As part of her master's program coursework, Moore studied desert and marine ecosystems on the Baja peninsula. Study sites include 13 countries throughout Africa, Asia, Australia and the Americas.
The GFP master's degree is designed for educators and other professionals from all disciplines and settings who are interested in working collaboratively to bring about change in local and global contexts. Becker College inducts 64 members into Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society
On Thursday, March 5, 64 students were inducted into Becker College's chapter of the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society. Alpha Lambda Delta is a national honor society through which Becker recognizes exceptional first year students.
"The dedication and academic achievement of these students is reflective of our commitment of ensuring our students achieve the highest level of excellence during their time at Becker," said Robert E. Johnson, Ph.D., president of Becker College.
Membership qualifications for the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society include first-time, full-time students, with a 3.5 GPA during their first semester.
