The EPA announced this week that materials transport to the Sutton Brook Cleanup site (Rocco's Dump) has started earlier than expected thanks to improved weather conditions.
As a result, increased truck traffic on Shawsheen Street, Bridge Street, South Street and other sections of South Tewksbury began increasing as of March 23.
The press release from the EPA reads as follows:
What residents should expect
It is expected that construction work will be ramping up again as spring approaches. Snow remains on site, so some schedules are still a bit tentative.
As weather has improved, it is anticipated that soil deliveries will begin again during the week of March 23, rather than March 30, 2015. Going forward, the Site will be active and regular deliveries of materials, supplies or equipment will continue. Large volume soil deliveries and associated truck traffic will not start until later in the spring.
Operating hours will generally be between 7:00 am to 4:30 pm.
EPA anticipates having additional schedule information and updating site information by mid-April.
