Apr 01, 2015 10:50AM ● By Paige Impink
The Tewksbury Beautification Committee announces its Spring Clean Up Day, Saturday, May 2 from 9:00AM-2:00PM. Following a successful tradition of clean up events in which residents collected nearly 1000 pounds of trash, the Committee is excited to offer this spring clean up opportunity. Interested citizens, community groups, church and sports groups are encouraged to register via Sign Up Genius at or by emailing  Even one hour of help will make a difference. Over thirteen miles of roads have been identified for this season’s effort. The primary focus is Main Street, Shawsheen Street, Route 133 and South Street, but groups can pick other locations such as Old Boston Road, Chandler Street, Astle Street, parks and sport fields, etc.
Individual volunteers or team leads are asked to visit the Beautification Committee tent at the Tewksbury Country Club parking lot to receive bags, gloves, safety vests and cones for collecting trash during the event. Each team will receive a contact card to call or text for their trash and supplies to be picked up when they are finished. Any amount of time is appreciated and clean up will continue throughout the five hour event. This is an ideal opportunity to earn Community Service hours, and there is a free raffle for donated prizes from local merchants.
The Committee would like to thank its partners – Tewksbury Department of Public Works, Tewksbury’s Bicycle Pedestrian and Advisory Committee, Tewksbury Town Hall,  Tewksbury Board of Selectman, and the Tewksbury Police Department.
