Planning Board Candidates George Ferdinand and Keith Anderson.
Neither candidate has held elected position in Tewksbury previously.
To help inform voters, Your Tewksbury Today asked the candidates a series of questions related to planning and development in Tewksbury. We are publishing their answers in a series of four articles this week.
This is the second in that series of four.
QUESTION 2: Do you support TIFs and other types of tax incentives to attract businesses to Tewksbury?
GEORGE FERDINAND: In negotiations ,which is one of my strengths, I would never take any tool at my disposal off the table to secure a positive outcome, which in this case would be attracting businesses to locate in or relocate to Tewksbury.
KEITH ANDERSON: As for TIF (Tax increment financing ), I agree with the concept on the short term. Not just creating districts but allowing all to have a chance at this type of financing with the town.
