A driver managed to escape serious injury when he lost control of his Ford F-150 pickup truck and it slammed into the side of Hobart's Country Store, 2514 Main St., near the Wilmington town line, Sunday afternoon.
Witnesses told police they saw the vehicle jump a curb and slam into the sided of the building at around 1 p.m. Emergency Personnel responded quickly to the scene of the crash.
The driver of the truck, who was not identified by Tewksbury Police, complained of chest pain and was taken by ambulance to Lowell General Hospital Saints Campus for treatment.
A spokesman for the Tewksbury Police said no criminal charges have been filed against the driver, and it's believed the crash was caused by a medical incident.
There were no injuries reported from inside the building.
The crash put a crack in the side of the building. The Building Inspector is scheduled to take a look at the scene Monday morning. There was minor damage inside the store.
