Senior Center Plans Trip to Casablanca Bay

If you would like to help to build the float for the Memorial Day Parade please sign up at the Senior Center.  Sign-up sheets are also available to participate by riding or walking the parade route with the Senior Float.  We hope to see you there.

Tickets are now available for the following trips:
June 17, 2015: Hampton Beach, Continentals. $15 per person
July 8, 2015: Fosters Lobster, Isle of Shoals. $97 per person
July 22, 2015 Boston Duck Tour, Lunch at Fire & Ice. $62 per person
Aug  19, 2015 Essex Steam Train, Connecticut River. $89 per person

The next Parkinson’s Support Group meeting will be held on Friday May 1st from 9:30 – 11:00 AM  at the Senior Center.  This group is open to all ages so please come and join us for this group.  This group is intended for those with Parkinson’s disease and those individuals may be accompanied by a loved one.  There will be refreshments served.

A breakfast benefit hosted by the Friends of the Elderly, will be held on Sunday May 3rd from 7:30-11:00AM at the Senior Center.  All proceeds from this breakfast will be used to benefit the Senior Citizen participation in the Memorial Day Parade. Menu will include: pancakes, red white and blue waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, beans, toast & beverages.  Adults are $7, children 12 and under are $3 and toddlers free. Public Welcome!

The Upscale Consignment Boutique will hold its “Intake of Items Day” on Monday, May 4th, 2015 from 2- 6 PM.  The Boutique is open during intake and is a good time to shop and you just never know what you will find. New consignors are always welcome!
Tickets are on sale now for the May 6th Casino trip to Foxwoods.   The cost of this trip is $30 per person, which includes motor coach transportation, a casino package and the driver gratuity.

On May 11th we will be having a Cootie Party at 12:30PM.  This game is lots of fun and open to everyone to play.  Why not come down and join in.

The Red Hat Carnation Belles with be having a Chinese Food and Spring Project Meeting on May 14, 2015 at 6PM.  The cost is $15 per belle.

The Tewksbury Historical Society & Salem Five Bank will be having an event at the Senior Center on May 15 at 7PM.  It will feature Kevin Comtois and the Music of the World War II Era.  Tickets for Society Members are $7:00 and for non-members $8.00.  Tickets are on sale at the Library on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month in the Local History Room.  Tickets can all be reserved by emailing www.tewksburyhistoricalsociety@msn.com.  The event will benefit the Society’s Building and Acquisition Fund.

The Silvertone’s will hold its next monthly dance at the Senior Center on Friday, May 15th beginning at 7:00 PM.  Tickets are $10 per person and are available at the door. Why not come on down and listen to the great big band sounds of our in-house band.

The next foot care clinic will be held on Thursday May 21st.  At this time that clinic is full. Call the office 978-640-4482 and speak to Jan to be put on the waitlist or to be scheduled for a future date.

The Red Hat Carnation Belles are planning a trip to Casablanca By the Sea in Portland Maine on Tuesday June 16, 2015.  The trip features Portland’s Island/Seal Harbor Cruise, Old Port Visit, and Clambake Restaurant Luncheon.  Departure from the Senior Center is 9AM and the total cost is $69.00 per person and checks are payable to Fox Tours.  Deadline for tickets is May 20th.
