Scott Oberg's trip back to the minors turned out to be rather brief.
Just a few days after being sent to Triple A Albuquerque, the Colorado Rockies recalled Oberg and the former Tewksbury High star has pitched well since his return.
Oberg, 25, has made four relief appearances since his return. In the first, he struck out the only batter he faced against the San Diego Padres. His next outing was a bit rougher, as he gave up three hits and two earned runs in just a third of an inning against the defending World Champion San Francisco Giants.
But Oberg bounced right back with two strong appearances. On April 29, Against the Arizona Diamondbacks, Oberg worked 1 2/3 innings of hitless relief, striking out three along the way. It was his best performance of the season. He followed that up on May 1 with one inning of scoreless relief against San Diego. He allowed just one hit and struck out one.
For the season, Oberg has seven strikeouts in six innings of work. He has lowered his ERA to 7.50.
