Girl Scouts Make Mother's Day Bags for MSPCC

May 05, 2015 03:00AM ● By Paige Impink

Social workers gathered with the bags donated by the Tewksbury and Wilmington Girl Scouts

Girl Scout troops from Tewksbury and Wilmington came together to make Mother’s Day bags for clients of the Lowell Chapter of the MSPCC (Mass Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children). The girls decorated and assembled donated items to help mom feel special on Mother’s Day. Items included hair accessories, nail polish, lip gloss, scented soaps, lotions and chocolates. The girls were thrilled to participate and gratified knowing their small gesture means a lot to others. The event was organized by Kim Welch of Troop 60245 in Tewksbury.
Healthy Families Lowell sent this thank you letter to the troops for the 120+ completed bags received:

Dear Troops:

Thank you so much for your hard work creating and putting together the Mother's Day bags for our participants.  We are truly grateful.  These young ladies don't have much and this will make them feel special on Mother's Day.  Every time they receive a gift they are so appreciative.

Your hard work will certainly brighten someone's day.

Thank you,
Healthy Families Lowell.

Troops involved include Cadettes 60245, Brownies 63193, Cadettes/Seniors 66771 from Tewksbury and Daisy 86281, Daisy 66233 and Brownie 75377 from Wilmington.
