Tewksbury Man Arrested For Assault, Robbery At Local Restaurant

A 23-year-old Tewksbury man is scheduled to be arraigned Monday morning in connection with alleged robbery early Thursday morning at the Route 38 Cafe, 2493 Main St.
Robert Gorski, of 140 Vernon St., was arrested Saturday, charged with unarmed robbery, aggravated burglary, and larceny over $250.
According to information provided by Tewksbury Police, the arrest was made around 5:15 p.m. Gorski was apprehended by Tewksbury officers after he exited a vehicle and began fleeing on foot in the industrial area of Hillman Street.
Once Gorski fled into the thick wooded area behind Hillman Street near Power Company Road, officers established a secure perimeter and stood-by for a police K9 to respond to the scene. However, during this time, officers observed Gorski inside the perimeter and a foot pursuit ensued. Gorski was apprehended in the swamp behind Hillman Street.
Gorski had been the subject of an intense search since he was identified as the male suspect in the Route 38 Café robbery.During the robbery, the victim reported being assaulted by Gorski inside the cafe. Gorski then fled the scene on foot with $285 cash and $20 in change.
