Welcome to "I Am Tewksbury," a new feature of Your Tewksbury Today!
Each week, we will feature a young person who has done things to make their family, friends or community proud.
Our first-ever "I Am Tewksbury" honoree is Shawsheen Tech senior Jamie Ray! She will receive two passes to Altitude Trampoline Park in Billerica.
Jamie was nominated by her father. She is a four-year starting catcher for the Shawsheen Tech softball team and leads the Colonial Athletic League with eight home runs.
As a sophomore, Jamie was the CAL Offensive Pl;ayer of the Year. As a junior, she was Defensive Player of the Year. This season, she is an MVP candidate.
Jamie will be graduating from the Shawsheen Tech dental program and has made honor roll. This fall, she will be attending New England College on scholarship with aspirations of being an orthodontist.
Jamie played nine seasons in the Tewksbury Girls Softball League Redmen, helping them win State Titles as 12U and 16U. This year, she will be awarded a TGSL Scholarship.
